Role and Facility Information

Full spectrum family practice with 12hr split shifts in the emergency room on a 7 day consecutive night float system.

Possibility to trade call shifts with other physicians to facilitate locum's schedule.

Potential to extend locum through March.

About the Clinic

Clinic Description

Clinic Composition

At present, 5 regular family physicians, 2 community Nurse Practitioners, 1 social worker, 1 RN and 5 MOA's.

Local Resources

There are 2 community pharmacies, a longterm care facility as well as community detox programs, mental health and addiction services and dietitian and diabetes RN services. Forensic Nurse Examiners available.

Emergency Framework

BCAS with air ambulance for urgent transfers requiring care above basic BLS.

Call Expectations

MOCAP Level 1, paid out after monthly submissions of the current month's hours at start of next month

CME Schedule

Periodic CME hosted by local CME group

Visiting Specialist/Consultant Information

4-6 weekly visits from specialists in General Surgery, ophthalmology (Spring, Summer and Fall), Pediatrics, Orthopedics.

10-12 weekly visits from Geriatrician.

Local Mental Health for tele-psych and in-person psychiatrist service planned.

Clinic Policy

Generally bookings will be made with the MRP for the patient.

Clinic also accepts low-acuity patients redirected from ER after being assessed and deemed appropriate by ER RN.

Sat clinic available for same-day appointments (refills only 1/12).
