RGPLP - Locum GP needed for Bella Bella Medical Clinic

Role and Facility Information

Locum required for Monday - Sunday with assignment ending at 0800 Monday morning. Can depart community on Monday July 31. On call Saturday and Sunday, but volume is low on the weekends.


Per Diem Rate for RGPLP

Please note:
In the event of a weekend, including a statutory holiday, payment will be a calculation of the weekend rate plus one day of the daily rate based on community type.

APP Communities under the Rural GP Locum Program Only
Communities funded under an Alternative Payment Program (APP) clinical service contract stipulate a 50/50 split for all third-party payments (50% of the claim paid to the Health Authority/agencies; 50% of the payment returned the APP). Rural GP Locums will receive their daily rate, plus 60% of the 50% third-party payment(s) received by the Health Authority. Any third-party payments will be paid directly to the locum by the Host Physician/clinic or Health Authority.

About the Clinic

Clinic Description

Clinic Composition

5 physicians; 1 full time time and 4 part time. Schedule is to have 3-4 physicians per week. Clinic, Hospital, Pharmacy are under one roof. Ambulance station across from hospital.

Lab, Xray, Mental Health, and Social Workers, Pharmacy, Resident Care Aides.

Emergency Framework

Ambulance, Medivac, shared cell phone, radio pager provided.

Call Expectations

1 in 3 evenings and 1 physician covers both days on weekends in 1:3 rotation.

Visiting Specialist/Consultant Information

Endocrinology, ENT, Geriatrics, Opthalmology, OB/GYN and Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Plastic Surgery, Orthopaedics, Cardiology and Nephrology.

Telemedicine for Psychiatry. Wound care consults can be done through Pixalere

Provided by site contact a small orientation pkg, community info and locum FAQ prior to confirming assignment.

On-site full orientation on first day(morning), with keys, passwords, contact lists, etc provided to locum on arrival.

Social Involvement

• There are four mountain bikes and 2 kayaks available for use– located in the hospital basement.

• The local hall also has a small workout gym – see orientation package for details.

• Of course there is fishing, hiking and a water ferry to Shearwater where there is a very nice restaurant.

The clinic does provide accommodation.

Accommodation Description

1 bdrm modular duplex or 1 bdrm apartment across the road from clinic/hospital. Equipped with kitchen, utensils, bedding, furniture, laundry, TV with satellite or cable service and VCR. Internet provided in duplex.
